The value of outsourced IT contracts has been further emphasised this week after it was announced that a US company has been chosen to complete tasks for a consumer firm.
Sagentia has won the $10 million (£6.4 million) rights to act as a research and development (R&D) department for the unnamed business.
In a statement to the London Stock Exchange, Sagentia said the terms of the contract mean it will run for three years and will see the company take control of numerous responsibilities.
For example, it will use IT equipment to oversee new product developments, as well as R&D challenges.
In recent months, Sagentia has developed its services and has taken on a number of major customers, underlining its ability to complete significant outsourced IT contracts.
Ahead of its prestigious Outsourcing Summits conference earlier this month, research body Gartner revealed ten steps to outsourced IT success, which included setting clear objectives.
