Virtualisation ‘a 2010 priority’

24th December

Category: Virtualisation

Virtualisation should remain a priority for infrastructure and operations (IO) professionals in the new year.

This is the suggestion of Simon Yates, writing for ComputerworldUK, who stated that 2010 will be a "critical" 12-month period for many experts in the field.

According to Mr Yates, businesses "want to put the last decade behind them" and instead focus on a range of products and markets that are beginning to emerge in the IT world, including virtualisation.

He remarked that service providers will concentrate on maximising their offerings in this area, with vendors increasingly looking to boost the efficiency of such systems for their clients.

Readers were also advised that managed IT services are to become a recognisable trend next year, with companies looking to optimise their efficiencies in this area.

A recent survey by VMware found that 81 per cent of firms consider controlling costs as one of their top 2010 business concerns, something which the organisation stated virtualisation may help them to achieve.ADNFCR-2732-ID-19530063-ADNFCR
