Virtualisation ‘becoming popular worldwide’

The popularity of virtualisation is starting to be seen on a global scale, one industry figure's comments have suggested.

In an interview with Delimiter, Dino Soepono - Asia-Pacific regional manager at Citrix - noted the software is being increasingly favoured by enterprises in Australia.

The expert explained the computing industry in the country tends to welcome new technology at a faster rate than other nations.

He observed: "Areas such as virtualisation [have] a very high adoption rate in Australia."

Such an outlook makes working for Citrix - which creates virtual software such as Citrix XenServer and Citrix XenDesktop - an exciting role, Mr Soepono added.

A group of products from Citrix recently became the first solutions to comply with the international security guidelines of the Common Criteria EAL 2.

Citrix XenServer, Citrix XenDesktop and Citrix XenApp all achieved the grading, which is used by many of the world's largest companies and government bodies.
