Virtualisation ‘helps businesses prosper’

Category: Virtualisation

Storage virtualisation can help organisations to realise a range of benefits from their current equipment, one expert has claimed.

Writing for IT Pro Portal, technology journalist Steve Gold noted that capacity in this area is often something that firms require additional help with.

He stated: "One of the key advantages of storage virtualisation is the ability to do more with less IT resources and this adage also applies to managing the virtualised environment."

According to Mr Gold, virtualisation software can provide a quick return on investment, ease of use and maximised system efficiencies.

Virtualisation of storage functions can also increase cost-effectiveness and the flexibility of a company’s internal infrastructure management processes, he added.

The specialist went on to say that being able to upgrade capacity without suffering from down-time is also a huge advantage.

Systems administrator Adam Salisbury recently wrote an article for the Register stating that virtualisation’s main plus point is that it can allow firms to achieve more with less resources.ADNFCR-2732-ID-19497096-ADNFCR
