Virtualisation ‘is the new IT buzz word’

Companies looking to keep up-to-date with the latest IT offerings might want to turn their attentions to virtualisation.

According to Joshua Hayes, virtual software - such as Citrix XenDesktop - is generating great momentum within the industry, Seeking Alpha reports.

The expert noted the term is the new buzz word in the computing world - one that is becoming as commonplace as the ‘dot com’ phrase that was often used throughout the 1990s.

Mr Hayes observed firms are turning to the option for a number of reasons.

"Converting to virtualisation, IT departments are looking to slash costs from existing IT spending, but avoid losing any functionality," the specialist stated.

He added such a switch would prove popular to those in charge of an organisation’s budget.

Writing for Investor’s Business Daily, J Bonasia recently claimed a move to virtual platforms can enable larger systems to become more flexible and reduces the space and energy required to power sizeable datacentres.
