Virtualisation ‘simplifies deployment efforts’

Deployment efforts can be streamlined and simplified through virtualisation, it has been suggested.

Writing for Server Watch, Kenneth Hess stated the process can be made even easier if the correct management tools are in place.

The specialist noted a centralised management application can automate configuration and provisioning and will enable companies to cut down any lengthy processes.

These can be scaled down from weeks to hours with an intelligent management system, the journalist observed.

Mr Hess explained the technology can also allow a customer to create templates, track system lifecycles and allow up to 10,000 virtual machines to be managed from one scalable management platform.

A number of "nagging breakdowns" in data centre management can be rectified by a firm investing in virtual products, he added.

Figures recently complied by Infonetics Research revealed the virtualisation security market has witnessed rapid growth in the first quarter of 2010, with the sector being up 119 per cent year-on-year in this period.
