Virtualisation ‘to become part of IT landscape’

29th January

Category: Virtualisation

Virtualisation offers companies a number of advantages that will ensure it becomes a mainstay in the IT realm for some time.

This is the opinion of Tony Lock of Freeform Dynamics, writing for the Register, who claimed that despite it being tricky to make sure-fire predictions as to what will be popular in the future, virtualisation has proven so successful that some assumptions can be made.

He remarked: "Virtualisation will become an inevitable element of the mainstream IT landscape."

According to Mr Lock, by 2012 there will be a marked increase in firms using platforms of this kind to run their business applications.

This is will enhance the availability of applications across companies, as well as reducing the amount of downtime that occurs, he added.

Earlier this week, fellow Freeform Dynamics contributor to the Register Martin Atherton commented that a larger number of businesses are "bringing virtualisation into the mix".ADNFCR-2732-ID-19585721-ADNFCR
