An enhancement to VMware's Ready program now means that middleware and application software will be able to qualify for the branding.

According to the organisation, applications that have the Ready logo have been certified as able to "deliver outstanding performance" when used with the VMware vSphere virtualisation platform, which eases the deployment process for customers.

Parag Patel, vice-president of alliances at the firm, said: "Our partner ecosystem is among the largest in the industry and having a wide selection of proven applications for VMware vSphere sets us apart from everyone else."

Applications branded with the VMware Ready logo will benefit from consumers knowing that the product has been fully tested, the company added.

Solutions currently considered Ready certified include enterprises resource planning and human resource management software.

VMware recently announced the launch of its View 4 desktop program, which it claimed is the sector's only purpose-built platform of its kind.
