Leading virtualisation company VMware has illustrated its diversity by confirming the release of a new cloud computing solution.

Speaking via its official blog, the firm said vCloud Connector 1.5 will help to make the use of both public and hybrid clouds a reality for businesses.

Its main advantage is described as the ability to transfer data between various cloud-based portals with ease, speed and efficiency.

The technology is compatible with a number of other VMware products, so moving information from one to another will be seamless.

Increased reliability, an enhanced search function and support for solutions such as vSphere (5.0) and vCloud Director (1.5) are nominated as among the highlights of the new feature.

Earlier this week, VMware announced that it had teamed up with two other companies to install desktop virtualisation solutions in Oak Hills school in western Ohio, US, which have helped it enjoy greater value for money.
