Category: Virtualisation

Desktop virtualisation specialist VMware has released its latest product that it believes will help companies to run Windows applications on Apple Mac machines.

VMware Fusion 4 is described as the best way to use the rival brands' technology in conjunction with each other.

Pat Lee, director of client product management at VMware, said it is now a "breeze" to achieve success with Windows programs on Apple computers.

"Offering full integration into Apple OS X Lion, VMware Fusion 4 builds on our proven, award winning platform to provide an easy, fast and reliable way to run Windows applications on a Mac," the expert stated.

Among the highlights of the solution are an ability to run graphics faster than its predecessors and the creation of a virtual machine library and snapshot menu that enhance usability.

CRN, which attended the recent VMworld 2011 conference, said that VMware's vRAM product had helped it to maintain its position at the top of the virtualisation market.
