22nd May

Category: Virtualisation

Leading virtualisation specialist VMware has released an upgrade to one of its most popular products, the vFabric Suite 5.1.

The company has launched a series of improvements and new capabilities that mean the solution can be deployed automatically on all VMware platforms, reports InformationWeek.

News of the upgrades could be well received by existing VMware users, as well as those currently mulling over the prospect of investing in its technology.

The news source went on to suggest VMware now stands to be the virtualisation provider of the future as well as the present.

David McJannet, senior director of product marketing at VMware, said: "There's a huge transition in how applications are being built today. The vast majority of apps [are] built using a framework of some kind."

Javier Soltero, the firm's chief technology officer of software as a service and application services, was recently quoted by PC Advisor as giving an intriguing insight into the future of the company, suggesting it will look to innovate and succeed in markets beyond desktop virtualisation.
