VMware virtual software can help boost disaster recovery timescales, it has been suggested.

The Denver Health and Hospital Authority has chosen to implement the software and cites such a speedy resolution as one of the main reasons for selecting VMware.

David Boone, operations and planning manager at the facility, explained getting a system back up and running is crucial in this sector.

"Disaster recovery is important for any business, but when your business is saving lives, as it is for Denver Health, disaster recovery takes on a new level of importance," the specialist remarked.

He added the installation will ensure full recovery capabilities for the organisation’s data centre - meaning if one site was to go offline, the other site would remain available automatically.

VMware was recently positioned by Gartner in the Leaders Quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for x86 Server Virtualisation Infrastructure, which recognised its ability to offer new levels of value and efficiency.
