VMware‘s View 4 and vSphere 4 virtualisation platforms have been highlighted by the company as indicators of its success in a year-end report.
The organisation revealed it experienced eight per cent growth in the review, with fourth-quarter year-on-year revenue of $608 million (£432 million).
According to the firm, the vSphere 4 and View 4 programs - released in October and November 2009 respectively - were both drivers of this success.
Paul Maritz, president and chief executive officer of the enterprise, said: "The quarter’s strong performance, anchored by demand for vSphere, signals that virtualisation is a key technology for customers who need to save money today."
He added that the business’s main strategy is to make IT less complex and easier to use for its customers.
Last year, Mr Maritz said at the launch of VMware View 4 that the software would change the face of desktop virtualisation forever and accelerate the take-up of emerging technology developments.
