VMware's View 4 offering is an application that could change the face of virtualisation forever, it has been claimed.

President and chief executive officer of the organisation Paul Mauritz said his firm is pleased with its contributions to the industry and cites the new product as a good example of this.

He remarked: "At VMware, we're extremely proud of the impact we've had on the datacenter, transforming decades old computing models and accelerating the emergence of private and public cloud environments."

According to the enterprise, users will benefit from a range of functions to improve efficiency.

These include simplified desktop management, flexibility and enhanced consumer experience, as well as better security operations through centralisation.

Implementing VMware View could help businesses to reduce their desktop total cost of ownership by up to 50 percent.

Chief executive officer of Tedici Corporation Dan Cordingley recently expressed his company's excitement at the release of the application, calling it "compelling".
