XenDesktop drives “record-breaking quarter” for Citrix

Category: Virtualisation

Citrix has stated that its XenDesktop software helped it to drive its performance in the last three-month period of 2009.

President and chief executive officer of the organisation Mark Templeton said that desktop virtualisation "saw a lot of interest" in the final quarter of last year.

According to Mr Templeton, XenDesktop‘s launch combined with uncommitted budget finances to help the firm deliver a "record-breaking" performance over the three months.

"For the full year, our disciplined financial and operational management served us well and we are positioned for continued improvement in our cost model," he added.

The business announced revenue of $451 million (£277 million) for Q4 - a nine per cent growth on money earned from the same period in 2008 - with annual income registering over $1.6 billion.

It follows recent comments by VMware that its View 4 and vSphere 4 virtualisation programs helped it to exceed financial expectations over the last 12 months.ADNFCR-2732-ID-19583469-ADNFCR
