One of the major strengths of SAP Business One is its flexibility, allowing the product to be configured around business requirements. But what if you want to make a few additions or adjustments to the information that is displayed, such as adding a new button to a screen to launch another application or making a number of key fields mandatory.

This generally requires implementing a complex and costly bespoke development with ongoing maintenance costs to ensure compatibility with future product upgrades. But now, through the B1 Usability Package, which is an SAP Certified add-on for SAP Business One, all current and future SAP Business One users are provided with a host of features and functionality that can easily be integrated into existing or new SAP Business One systems without the need for any costly development.

What does it do?

The B1 Usability Package is an add-on for SAP Business One which provides the ability to configure functionality bespoke to the way the end user requires. The package is very user-friendly and allows rapid configuration of tasks and functionality that were previously only possible through costly development.

The B1 Usability Package is installed like any other SAP Business One add-on and can be turned on or off at will for any of your current SAP Business One users.

It provides a wealth of useful features which can be quickly installed to improve your working experience. Just a few of these features are described below.

How will it help my business?

With B1UP, you can maximize the daily use of SAP Business One. Through simple configuration you can; change the layout of every window within SAP Business One, hide any un¬used fields, create shortcuts, create mandatory fields and much more.

With B1UP, you can create an SAP Business One system that works for you and which is tailored to your specific needs.

Furthermore, you now have the possibility to integrate useful functions such as recurring invoicing and letter merge into your SAP Business One system, without the need for specialist technical skills.

• B1 Search - Carry out a ‘Google' type full text search for specific data by simply entering the text in a search field and clicking the Search button. The search results are listed by document type for selection in a separate window..
• Functions Buttons - Up to 10 buttons can be added to any screen and then configured to trigger a formatted search, open another window such as an Invoice or Order or start another application such as Microsoft Word.
• Mandatory fields - Define mandatory fields for any window in SAP Business One, then use colours to indicate them and make them user specific.
• Item Placement Tool - Re-arrange all of the data displayed on any window to move fields to more suitable places, make fields smaller or larger, move fields between tab pages, hide fields that you don't use or display User Defined Fields (UDFs).
• Letter Merge - Merge data from Business Partner master data into Word templates for CRM activities.
• Tab Control - Define how a window reacts on clicking the TAB key to move between fields such as setting the tab order to suit the way you work and skipping fields that you don't use to reduce the number of clicks required. You can save the configuration as a Tab Control which may be added, removed or edited at any time and applied for a specific user or all users.
• Quick Create - Quickly create a Business Partner or Item from a simplified window instead of the Business Partner or Item Master Data windows. This functionality may be added to all sales and purchasing documents to enable Business Partners or Items to be easily created or edited.
• Exchange Rates - This feature saves you time manually inputting exchange rates on a regular basis by utilising an online exchange rate service using your internet connection. You can set up your system to update exchange rates at an interval that suits you, e.g. once a month, daily etc. You can also have the system warn you if the exchange rate change exceeds a set percentage.
