Codestone attend the SAP Innovation Summit

Earlier this month, we sent a delegation of 8 people from Codestone to the annual SAP SMB Innovation Summit in Berlin.

Over 1000 people attended the three-day summit which is SAP’s flagship partner event for the SMB Partner community in EMEA. We love attending this event as it’s an opportunity for us to hear directly from SAP’s executive team about latest improvements and innovations in SAP Business One, SAP Business ByDesign and HANA that we can then share with our customers. For us, it was made an even better event as we were named the top SAP Business One supplier in the UK and Ireland for most new customers in 2016, an accolade we are very proud of.

The event also covered lots of very interesting developments from SAP which we thought we would share here:

SAP’s strategy for the future

During the summit SAP re-iterated that the product strategy going forward will include all modes of cloud deployment including public, private and hybrid. Across Europe sales of cloud based solutions are growing substantially and now outstrip the demand for on premise solutions by some considerable margin. The demand for cloud deployments we are seeing ourselves confirms this.

The aim in the coming months is to continue to innovate and bolster our cloud delivery services and ensure that our own knowledge and experience in this area is market leading.

Delivering what you need

When SAP talk about their new product developments it’s clear that they are listening to what customers need and are acting fast on end user and partner feedback. Improvements in SAP Business One include key areas such as manufacturing, partner management and logistics – among many others.

In addition, during the summit, SAP made new commitments to ensuring that SMB products such as SAP Business One and SAP Business ByDesign will be readily available to the subsidiaries of larger SAP accounts allowing them to integrate with their parent companies but for a fraction of the cost of SAP’s Enterprise products.

Complimentary products

The SAP add-on ecosystem continues to grow with more and more mature, complimentary products. Many of these provide real incremental value and functionality such as warehouse management, productivity, integration and automation, EDI and many others.

This is just a short summary of some of the main highlights we heard during the Innovation Summit. Our entire team would like to thank SAP for an inspiring and informative event and for their hospitality during the event.

In the coming weeks, we will be updating you on some of the innovations SAP told us about particularly with regard to HANA so keep an eye out for that blog.
