Gocycle is an electric bicycle manufactured by Karbon Kinetics Limited, founded in 2002 by Richard Thorpe, a former designer at the Formula 1 constructor McLaren. Setting out to produce the world’s best urban electric bike, in 2019 they celebrated the 10th anniversary of the launch of the first injection-moulded magnesium alloy bicycle, the Gocycle G1. The business is based in Chessington in the UK, with a further US-based company.
To improve visibility of all areas of the business and enable the automation of numerous labour-intensive processes, Gocycle needed to replace its suite of legacy systems, including Sage Line 50. Codestone’s attention to detail in the pre-sales stage, and its thorough and proven methodology – focusing on a clearly-defined set of outcomes, won it the opportunity to deliver the solution.
Codestone will be implementing SAP Business One as a Service (BOaS), incorporating the B1 Usability Package (B1UP) from Boyum. The integrated solution will support a wide range of activities, including:
- Purchasing – greater control of requirements
- Manufacturing – improved management
- Warehouse Management – introduction of scanning technologies
- Integration of e-Commerce and Logistics
Gocycle’s continued growth and diversification will be supported by greater automation of processes, improved visibility of all areas of the business as well as improved Business Intelligence.
