A long-standing customer of Codestone, John Samonas & Sons Ltd. provides commercial, operational and technical management for a fleet of dry bulk carriers operating globally. Codestone has supported its on-premise IT infrastructure for over 10 years, assisting it with periodic refreshes of the platform. In order to move to a more robust and flexible environment, the organisation decided to implement a phased migration to a cloud-based solution.

As a result of its long and trusted relationship, and the clarity of its pre-sales advice, Codestone was chosen to begin the implementation of the new systems architecture.

Initially the solution will comprise the Microsoft 365 Business bundle enabling core services, such as email, personal and corporate data to be moved to MS Cloud OneDrive and Microsoft Teams applications. Codestone’s Systemsure offering will provide 24/7 support, with back up resilience using VEEAM BUaaS. An on-premise server will be retained to run third party applications on in-warranty hardware.

John Samonas & Sons will benefit from the flexibility of remote working, enabling easier collaboration between its UK and Greek staff. Enhanced security and compliance will be delivered by Microsoft 365 Business features, including multi-factor authentication and e-Discovery.
