Since its first release SAP Business ByDesign (ByD) has used Microsoft Silverlight to render its appearance in the web browser.
For some time now the use of Silverlight has significantly affected the browsers that can be used to access the ByD system. This is because support for Silverlight has been withdrawn from the majority of browsers meaning it cannot be used.
SAP have been working on a new user interface (UI) for ByD for some years now. This new UI is known as the HTML5 UI and is set to replace the Silverlight UI during 2018.
This presentation highlights some of the key differences between the user interfaces and advocates a controlled switch to HTML5 in time for the May 2018 release.
